Wedding Musicians and Soloists Needed!!!
Are you an accomplished musician or soloist who would be interested in sharing your talents for special celebrations, such as weddings? We are in need of soloists and instruments to draw upon for the many weddings at St. Jude. If you are interested or would like more information, please contact Wedding Music Coordinator, Patsy Winston, via email (email@example.com) or text/call 817-905-4496.
All musicians and choirs should be in place in the music area/risers ready to go, prior to the 5 minute bell. The entrance hymn is a prayer and should not be interrupted by tardy musicians/choir members rushing to take their place. Please plan accordingly and present yourself on time. If you are running late, wait until after the entrance hymn is finished before making your way to the music area. Parents, if you have a child in the Music Ministry, your assistance in making sure they arrive on time is appreciated. Remember, if you are early, you are on time...if your are on time, you are late!
Individual baptisms (English) will be performed during 10am English Mass every 3rd Sunday of the month. Group baptisms (English) will be performed immediately following 10am English Mass every 4th Sunday of the month. (There will be no 10am Mass choir rehearsal on the 4th Sunday of each month, so be prepared to practice on the 3rd Sunday following mass for 2 weeks of music.)
Lamb of God
Effective June 3/4, 2017, the optional verses will be omitted and "Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us" will be repeated until Fr. Thu genuflects, then the last "Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, grant us peace"... etc.
Cantors should not adjust the microphones at the ambo or lectern when singing the Responsorial Psalm and/or Alleluia. The microphones will pick up your voice regardless of your height.
Cantors should refrain from wearing sleeveless garments when singing the Responsorial Psalm, Alleluia, or any music that requires bringing in the congregation in song.
