YOUTH FAITH FORMATION

The goal for Youth Faith Formation is to empower young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in our world today, to draw young people to responsible participation in the life, mission and work of the Catholic faith community, and to foster total personal and spiritual growth of each young person.

LeadingTeensCloserstoChristYouth Ministry at St. Jude Catholic Church provides Religious Faith Formation classes for grades 6 through 12 as well as Confirmation Preparation for high school students who are at least a sophomore and 15 years old.

Also, activities and events are scheduled throughout the year for the youth which provides them with the opportunity to socialize, to do service, to develop their leadership skills, to receive catechesis, and to evangelize. We are dedicated to assisting parents in providing opportunities for the youth to grow deeper in their faith in Jesus Christ and His Church through prayer, worship, education, service and fellowship.  We use the Life Teen and Edge Curriculum. Edge helps middle schoolers unleash who they were created to be, in Christ. Life Teen strengthens our teens’ Catholic identity, while rooting them firmly in Christ and in His Church.

Youth Ministry is not just for the youth. Adult volunteers are needed to make the program successful. Teachers, teacher’s aides, drivers, food preparation, and chaperones are only a few of the positions that require adult volunteers. All volunteers who work directly with youth are expected to attend “Safe & Sacred, Youth and Vulnerable Adults Safe” and submit a background check.  Please consider joining us in this rewarding ministry!  Luke 10:2 “The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest.”  Please pray to discern if the Lord’s will is for you to use your gifts and talents helping our Youth Ministry.
